Mangled Yarn

OUR STORY

Neil and Christopher had been working together for a long enough time to consider each other “friends”.

Late into a responsibly and sophisticatedly observed party one summer's evening, Neil had a flash of inspiration and, in his and Christopher’s opinion, had stumbled upon the most inappropriate text to adapt into a family friendly comedy…

Thus Frankenstein the Pantomime was born and with it the partnership behind Mangled Yarn. Little snag, their mascot, came along not soon after and the three of them have been trying to take innovative, magical, silly, wonderful theatre to people who don’t get it, ever since. Along the way they have been joined by a team of incredibly talented, patient and joyful people who share that vision.

The name Mangled Yarn is itself a mangled Shakespeare quote, reflecting their love of classic texts and stories and their wish to lovingly unstitch them, add their own exclusive brand of absolute nonsense, and put them back together.

“The web of our life is of a mingled yarn, good and

ill together: our virtues would be proud, if our

faults whipped them not; and our crimes would

despair, if they were not cherished by our virtues.”

William Shakespeare
